INVITATION FOR 20th WCBIP-WCBE PROPOSAL

Dear Colleagues,

Many thanks indeed for your continued interest in and support for the World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP).

We would like to formally invite your Association or Society to submit a proposal to hold the 20th World Congress for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WCBIP), to be held in 2018.

Please submit all applications either electronically or by regular mail, or by both methods, to Rod TURNER via the contact form.

Please include:

  •     Proposed venue (with confirmed availability)
  •     Proposed schedule
  •     Theme for the congress, if there is a specific area you would like to address
  •     Information regarding the venue, the area, its characteristics and access (major airports etc)
  •     Information regarding your society, its founding principles, current positions (Chair, etc), achievements and future vision
  •     Ultimate goals for the 20th WCBIP

The inclusion of the above information is essential, but information regarding the themes, introductions, and area descriptions can be flexible, as can the presentation format. In 2010 (Budapest), we had PowerPoint presentations, paper brochures and glossy, well-finished calendar-style information packs distributed to all BOR attendees.

Societies who have submitted applications to hold the 20th WCBIP will each be given 7 minutes at the Board of Regents (BOR) meeting to give a short presentation in support of their proposal.

We hope that the above information is sufficient to start planning. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with Rod Turner in the Tokyo office via the contact form, at any time.

We very much look forward to receiving your application.

Yours sincerely,

Hiroaki Osada, MD

Chair, WABIP
