Interpret and integrate contemporary evidence from key pleural trials into clinical decision-making. Perform and optimise thoracic ultrasound assessment for pleural effusion, pneumothorax, interstitial syndrome and procedural planning. Demonstrate safe techniques for pleural procedures, including thoracentesis, small-bore intercostal chest drain insertion, ambulatory drainage and Seldinger-based techniques. Understand the principles and practical use of indwelling pleural catheters, including integration with digital drainage systems.
