  • The WABIP Pediatrics group is very active with hundreds of members participating in the WhatsApp group.
  • The Rare Lung, Airway, Pleura Disorders group is just as alive and active, and have its own group page on Facebook with 200+ members.
  • Paper addressing benign central airway obstruction is ongoing, with chairs Dr. Tim Murgu and Dr. Toni Rosell
  • Further growth of the WABIP Academy with more items in the Literature and Images sections (see http://www.wabipacademy.com).
  • Increased WABIP presence in regional society congresses (ECBIP and APCB) in the off years of the WABIP World Congress (WCBIP).
  • Continuation and growth of official journals: Respirology, Respiration, and JOBIP.
I hope that with your continued support, we will continue to grow the WABIP in 2018. We are committed to the use of new technologies to improve physician performance and communication so that patients may more rapidly benefit from the increasing number of medical and surgical procedures available for the diagnosis and treatment of airway, lung, esophageal and pleural diseases.

On behalf of the WABIP Executive Board, I wish you happy holidays, and peace & joy in 2018. We look forward to your continued collaboration and support so that 2018 will be an even better year for the worldwide bronchology & IP community.
